Jojoba oil for face against wrinkles. Jojoba oil - properties and uses for face, hair, body. Jojoba essential oil for body skin

Previously, animal wax, spermaceti, was used in the industry to prepare cosmetics. They were obtained from such rare animals as sperm whales. This barbaric method was finally banned, and other substitutes had to be found to replace the animal ingredient.

And then we paid attention to such a plant as Chinese Simmondsia (Simmondsie chinensis). Since ancient times, a unique oil has been extracted from its fruits, which has many healing properties, especially for the skin. The oil is so ancient and valuable that it was even found in the Egyptian tombs of the pharaohs.

Now jojoba is the most valuable base oil in the preparation of cosmetics and is included in many cosmetic products for face, hair and body care.

What is especially valuable is that this oil can be successfully used in home cosmetology. And all this is thanks to its unique properties, which we will introduce you to in this article.

What is jojoba oil

Although this substance is commonly called oil, it is actually a liquid plant wax. It is obtained, as we said, from the fruits of the low-growing evergreen shrub Simmondsia sinensis, which grows in the desert areas of Arizona, California, and Mexico.

Jojoba oil is produced by cold pressing the nuts, which contain about 50% of this substance. It does not emit a noticeable odor, has a golden hue and hardens at a temperature of 0°, taking on the appearance of wax. This wax does not lose its properties for a long time and can even serve as a preservative for other substances included in cosmetic products. It contains a large amount of ceramides, so the product is resistant to heat and oxidation.

Vegetable wax (or oil) is truly unique in its composition. It resembles human sebum and is therefore easily absorbed, saturating our skin with proteins, vitamins (antioxidant E), fatty acids and many other beneficial components.

According to cosmetologists, jojoba is an ideal remedy for moisturizing, nourishing, softening, rejuvenating and healing our skin. What is especially valuable is that the oil contains many amino acids and proteins and is similar in composition to the collagen of our skin, which, as we know, provides it with firmness and elasticity. What’s also great is that this oil is hypoallergenic and can be used for sensitive and even children’s skin.

How does natural jojoba wax affect the skin?

This unique oil is suitable for any skin type and solves a variety of problems in maintaining its beauty and health.
What skin problems does vegetable wax solve:
- having a regenerating effect, it helps skin cells to quickly recover and renew themselves, thereby preserving its youth;
— the wax penetrates deep enough inside and creates a kind of barrier there, retaining moisture inside the cells and protecting it from dehydration;
- eliminates;
- helps maintain elasticity of aging skin;
- fights the appearance of wrinkles and smoothes them out;
- soothes sensitive skin prone to irritation and redness;
- helps on problem skin and prevents the appearance of new inflammations;
- has a therapeutic effect on many skin diseases (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and neurodermatitis);
- successfully used to care for the skin around the eyes, smoothes out crow's feet, nourishes and moisturizes the eyelids;
— smoothes the surface of the epidermis and improves its color;
- Helps the skin better absorb vitamin D;
- eliminates weathering and cracks;
- helps men relieve skin irritation after shaving.

How to properly apply facial oil

You will come across a lot of advice that jojoba oil can be used in its pure, undiluted form, applying it all over the face; sometimes it is recommended to remove makeup with it. Take these recommendations with caution, as natural jojoba oil has a thick consistency and, in strong concentrations, can affect the skin differently, as everyone's skin is different. It is better to stick to the golden mean and use it as a base, diluting it with other ingredients.

1 rule. In its pure undiluted form, jojoba is used in exceptional cases. For example, on acne-affected or flaky skin areas. These areas are lubricated in spots several times a day.
Rule 2., the oil is diluted with other cosmetic oils in a 1:2 ratio (for example, with rosehip, grape or almond oil). At the same time, it is allowed to carefully drive undiluted product into the crow's feet, but with caution.
Rule 3. If you want to completely lubricate your entire face with oil, dilute it with lighter ones in a ratio of 1:2 or 1:3. Grapeseed oil, peach, apricot, almond or rosehip oil are suitable here.
Rule 4. Vegetable wax enhances hair growth, so if you have fuzz or whiskers on your face, use this product in doses (concentration no higher than 10%) and with caution!
Rule 5. Include jojoba in homemade masks and oil mixtures for any skin type; it is suitable for almost any recipe, but do not exceed the specified dosages.
Rule 6 This oil is often used. Do this carefully so as not to cause irritation to the skin and mucous membranes. But what is valuable is that as a result of such procedures, your eyelashes will become noticeably thicker and may even darken.
Rule 7 The oil fights wrinkles well and prevents their formation, as it easily penetrates deep into the skin and activates metabolic processes in cells. You can simply apply a cotton pad soaked with this vegetable wax or any oil mixture based on it to deep wrinkles and folds several times a day.

Today on the shelves of cosmetic stores you can find many products that contain jojoba oil. At the same time, few people think about what kind of component it is. Jojoba is a small nut containing about 50 percent viscous liquid similar to wax. Jojoba fruits, which have many beneficial properties, are mined in hot countries with arid climates. The fruits are collected by hand and then processed by pressing. As a result of processing nuts, an extremely valuable and healthy oil is obtained, widely used in perfumery, cooking, medicine and, of course, in cosmetology.

Benefits of jojoba oil for facial skin

We should start with the fact that the product contains a huge variety of proteins and proteins. The amino acids that form the protein structures of the oil are very similar to the structure of the collagen protein, which is the main ingredient in cosmetic products with a rejuvenating and firming effect. As a result of using such perfumes, the skin regains its former elasticity and firmness, regenerating wrinkles.

Rejuvenation as a result of the interaction of essential oil with the skin occurs due to its saturation with vitamin E. And since this vitamin promotes cell restoration, the rejuvenation effect can be noticed actually after using the composition for the first or second time.

Almost every woman knows that wrinkles form due to dry, flaky skin. Jojoba penetrates deeply into the inner layers and creates small film-like membranes at the cellular level. It is this membrane protection that allows you to retain moisture and avoid drying out the skin.

It is also worth noting the anti-inflammatory properties of the component, which allow the use of products with jojoba oil to treat various skin diseases. Among such diseases are: acne, dermatitis, psoriasis and the like.

You can also specify a number of factors that are affected by jojoba when applied to the face:

  1. age-related skin changes, the appearance of wrinkles, sagging and general exhaustion;
  2. irritation and softening of sensitive skin - this is why nut oil is included in almost every shaving product;
  3. acne and various rashes, including eczema. Moreover, the remedy is not only capable of curing existing
  4. lesions, but also to prevent the appearance of new foci of inflammation;
  5. moisturizes, nourishes and strengthens the delicate skin around the eyes;
  6. evens out the overall color of the skin and also prevents excessive pigmentation as a result of tanning;
  7. Jojoba is often used as a means of eyebrow correction, as well as for the treatment of chapped and chapped lips.

How to apply jojoba cosmetic oil to your face

Since the oil is more like wax, having a thick consistency, it is recommended to apply it only locally - this applies to the product in its pure form. In this way, only those areas of the facial skin that need treatment or correction can be treated. For example, rashes or pimples that you want to get rid of as soon as possible. Or local exfoliation of the skin as a result of frostbite or other external influences.

It is not recommended to use pure oil to treat the area around the eyes. In this case, you should dilute the product with another, less strong essential oil, for example rosehip, in a ratio of one to two. Such measures must be observed in order to avoid allergic reactions that may occur when exposed to a heavy product on areas with thin skin.

In order to apply the oil to the entire face, it is better to use a mixture of it with some other element, preferably mixing the composition with a face cream. However, the best option would be a jojoba mask, which should be washed off 15 minutes after application. You can also add the component as an incoming product to ready-made masks.

How else to use oil: mask recipes

One of the most environmentally friendly ways to take care of your face is to make your own masks. The beauty of such an event lies in the complex impact and selection of exactly those complexes that are needed for a particular case. An excellent option for skin care that requires rejuvenation and treatment is a mask based on jojoba oil.
The correct combination of the products included in the mask will allow you to get the best effect. Below is a series of recipes that are not difficult to repeat at home, because “eternal” beauty is something that everyone can do.

For wrinkles around the eyes

To create an oil-based mask to prevent or smooth out wrinkles in the eye area, you will need the following ingredients:

  • jojoba oil in the amount of two teaspoons;
  • avocado oil in the same volume as the base oil;
  • mint – 2 drops of essential oil;
  • fennel – also two drops.

All components are thoroughly mixed and used as a mask, applied to the lower and mobile eyelid twice a day. The first procedure should be carried out in the morning, and the second before bedtime. The mixture must be stored in the refrigerator in a container covered with a lid.

Mask for oily skin

In order to make a mask that allows you to successfully cope with the regulation of fat glands on the face, you should prepare a number of ingredients. The basis is ordinary milk in a volume of 50 milliliters, which should be heated. We begin to pour essential oils into warm milk:

  • jojoba - 20 milliliters;
  • bergamot – 2 drops;
  • myrtle and sandalwood – 2 drops each;
  • lavender – 3 drops;
  • geranium – 1 drop.

When all the components are successfully combined, you need to find gauze with which to cover your face. Before you wet the “fabric frame” of the mask, make holes in it for the nose and eyes. The gauze is kept on the face until it stops being warm. When the mask has cooled, repeat soaking and so on several times.
After completing the procedure, you need to wash your face with warm water so that no product remains on your face. You can complete the “masking” with a contrast wash using an ice cube.

For dry problem skin

A recipe that can help with dry problem skin is based on the following combination of oils:

  • a teaspoon of jojoba oil is mixed with two tablespoons of black cumin oil - the mixture is heated in a water bath until one product is completely dissolved in the other;
  • 5 drops of bergamot;
  • 2 drops rosemary and juniper;
  • 1 drop of basil.

The mask is applied to the face and left for 15 minutes, after which it must be washed off.

Application for lips

In order to tidy up chapped, chapped and dry lips, mix 5 grams of cocoa butter with 2 ml of jojoba and add calendula oil, beeswax and vanilla oil (10 ml of each).

Mix the products and heat in a water bath to obtain a homogeneous mass. As a result, the product is applied to damaged lips as a therapeutic procedure or prevention.

Possible harm from using essential oil

There is no harm from using this type of oil or oil base. The only thing that may prevent the use of the product is individual intolerance, which may manifest itself as an allergic reaction.

In order to avoid such processes, it is necessary to apply the product in a small amount to the inside of the elbow and wait a little. This action will allow you to determine the individual reaction of the body to the product.

Jojoba oil has been used for facial skin since ancient Egypt. This is a unique product that is still used today as a rejuvenating and nourishing product. This is an excellent option for basic care for women's facial skin; it can be added to daily creams and lotions; many women make face masks from it and remove makeup with it.

How do you get it?

The oil is produced in two ways: by refining and by cold pressing the seeds (nuts) of Simmondsia chinensis (Chinese jojoba), a shrub that grows in southern Arizona, southern California and northwestern Mexico. For cosmetic purposes, it is better to use oil obtained by cold pressing. Natural 100% vegetable oil has a golden color and a slightly perceptible smell of macadamia nuts or, as they are also called, Australian nuts. This oil is most often sold in dark glass jars, as it is sensitive to light.

Unique beneficial properties

Oil makes up about 50% of the seed mass. In the literature, along with the term “oil,” you can also find the term “jojoba wax,” since it visually looks like liquid wax and hardens at room temperature.

Jojoba squeeze contains amino acids in proteins, which are similar in structure to collagen, which is responsible for skin elasticity. The oil has properties identical to spermaceti and is rich in tocopherol, tannins and esters. This is a real storehouse of vitamins and nutrients for beauty and health. Another important property is its resistance to oxidation and rancidity.

Women's facial skin ages faster than men's skin, so the use of jojoba wax is especially recommended for the fairer sex.

But the most amazing thing is that it allows you to slow down the development of bacteria that cause tuberculosis, has enzymatic properties that are used in the manufacture of penicillin and cephalosporins, and when applied to the skin, its rejuvenating and bactericidal properties appear. The beneficial properties of the oil are stored only for two years after opening the package, so it is very important to notice the end of the expiration date in time.

Due to its unique properties, it is classified as a base oil, so it can be used in its pure form as an independent cosmetic product.

Application in cosmetology

Initially, jojoba oil was used by the Indians of Mexico as a wound healing agent, as well as as an effective protection for skin and hair from ultraviolet rays emitted by sunlight.

The modern range of uses for jojoba wax is quite wide. Jojoba oil is used for official ointments in the treatment of dermatological diseases of the face (true eczema, neurodermatitis, atomic dermatitis) and in cosmetology. Most cosmetologists praise this product for its versatility.

Its distinctive feature is that it is suitable for most skin types: problematic, normal, sensitive, oily and aging.

It allows you to maintain skin elasticity, slow down the aging process, and protects it from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation and cold. The components of jojoba wax create a protective film for the skin and, penetrating through the surface layers of the epidermis, help preserve the lipid film. Wax is actively used in the fight against acne, reduces the production of sebum on the scalp, and promotes hair growth.

The high efficiency of the oil determines the popularity of its use. It is included in many facial products: facial washes, soaps, protective sunscreens, lip balm, and there are also decorative cosmetics based on jojoba wax. It is used in the creation of creams against the formation of fine wrinkles under the eyes.

Depending on the degree of concentration, it can be cosmetic or essential.

Essential oil has a higher concentration of beneficial substances and does not require large quantities when used. Usually only a few drops of essential oil are used to prepare any cosmetic product. Cosmetic oil is a finished product that does not require additional ingredients.

Jojoba oil is a wonderful natural product that can be used without adding other ingredients.

It is recommended to apply it to the skin of the face before sunbathing so that the tan is even and has a beautiful golden hue; on eyebrows to enhance hair growth, on lips to protect them from wind and cold. Or you can use it instead of a daily day cream, which has high regenerating properties and actively fights age-related changes and the first wrinkles. To enhance the healing properties, it is better to heat it in a steam bath so that it becomes warm and has a more liquid-looking consistency. It should be remembered that essential oil does not heat up.

Jojoba wax does not cause allergies, which is an additional advantage over other analogues. The only thing you need to remember is that this is a natural product that has a natural golden hue and may turn yellow. Therefore, in order not to accidentally ruin your favorite clothes, it is recommended that after applying it, blot it with a napkin after 3-5 minutes and remove excess oil.

This oil is not suitable for frequent use by women who want to maintain their snow-white skin.

Cosmetic jojoba oil is widely used to remove makeup. After soaking a cotton pad in the oil, wipe your eyes and lips thoroughly, and the makeup will be washed off in one motion. Plus, wax will enhance eyelash growth, which is especially useful for those with thin eyelashes. For those who do eyelash extensions, this product will be useful in restoring them. Without much difficulty, you can improve their appearance in just a month.

Wax can be added to your favorite night or day cream, as well as ready-made lotions and face masks.

Before applying the cream to your face, you should add a few drops of oil to one of your favorite products; the main thing here is not to overdo it. For effective scrubbing, you can add oil to your regular facial scrub. This will allow you to perform two procedures at the same time: cleansing and nutrition.

At home, wax can be applied to damaged areas of the skin (pimples, peeling, burns). Can be mixed with other cosmetic oils, such as peach, apricot or almond. This mixture is often applied around the eye area to get rid of bags under the eyes. It is better to perform this procedure two hours before bedtime so that the eyes do not look swollen the next morning.

I use jojoba wax as a product after epilation of hair above the lip. It softens and nourishes damaged skin, quickly removes redness, and slows down hair growth.

Mask recipes

Jojoba oil can be used to make nourishing and restorative face masks. The ingredients can be anything. The most common are honey, egg, clay.

For face

For mature and aging facial skin, it is recommended to use a honey mask: 10 drops of jojoba, 30 grams of honey, 2 teaspoons of live yogurt, 1 egg white. Everything is mixed and applied for 15-20 minutes, then washed off with warm water. The procedure can be performed no more than twice a week.

To moisturize dry facial skin, you can use a mask based on peach and apricot oils and jojoba oil.

Apricot oil can be replaced with grape seed oil. A one to one proportion of each product is used. To enhance the effect of the mask, we recommend tilting your face and lightly tapping your forehead and cheeks with your fingertips.

To prepare it, you need to take mineral water or pre-settled water. Add a few drops of wax and pour into ice cube trays. You can also add a leaf of mint and parsley for beauty and smell.

To slow down the aging process and regenerate the skin It is better to use a mask based on sour cream, clay selected for your skin type, or jojoba wax. You need to take 70 grams of sour cream, the fattier the better, 1 teaspoon of cosmetic clay, selected according to your skin type, and 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil. The mask must be applied in a thick layer. It is not recommended to talk or laugh while the mask is on your face. The mask is washed off with warm water after it hardens, after about 20-30 minutes. After use, it is recommended to wipe your face with a terry towel in order to achieve a massage effect.

A modern spermaceti mask involves the use of an old but effective beauty recipe, in which the role of spermaceti is replaced by jojoba wax. 30 drops of jojoba oil, first heat it in a steam bath, add 2 drops of vitamin E and 2 drops of vitamin A. The mask must be applied immediately after preparation, otherwise the vitamins may evaporate under the influence of ultraviolet radiation. Previously, this mask was used by Soviet actresses to restore their skin after makeup.

The following mask will help refresh your facial skin after long flights, sessions or other stressful situations. You need to grate a fresh peeled cucumber on a fine grater, add 5 ml of jojoba oil, a drop of lemon, cover your face with a paper towel and leave for half an hour.

For lips

To combat chapped lips, you should use a mask based on jojoba wax, honey and vitamin A. You only need a few drops of oil, 1-2 drops of vitamin A and a teaspoon of honey to tidy up dry lip skin. We recommend using unheated honey to prepare the mask so that there are more beneficial vitamins. The mask can be used either once or repeatedly. The skin of your lips will be young again.

Cosmetics with jojoba oil are an easy way to improve the appearance of your skin and rejuvenate it at home. This is one of the best carrier oils for fighting wrinkles. Notably, it can be used to restore the delicate skin around the eyes, although most cosmetic products are not recommended for use in this area of the face.

Cosmetic properties of jojoba oil

Jojoba is a powerful branching shrub that reaches a height of three meters. The plant is native to North and South America. The fruits of the plant - capsules with three sides - are a source of valuable oil. By cold pressing, a transparent golden oily substance is squeezed out of the fruit.

Jojoba oil is called liquid wax. It contains the following substances:

  • vitamin E (tocopherol);
  • collagen;
  • fatty acids: palmitic, oleic, palmitoleic, behenic, stearic, eicosenoic, docosenoic, etc.;
  • alcohols: eicosene, tetracosene, docosahexaenoic.
There is more tocopherol in oil. This substance enhances the rejuvenating effect of all substances in the composition. The content of collagen - the main building material of skin cells - guarantees that the skin after cosmetics with jojoba becomes elastic and taut.

Eicosenoic acid is a rare component for which jojoba oil is highly valued. It is thanks to this acid that regeneration processes are resumed in the skin. The substance restores damaged tissues, restores their elasticity and firmness. And in combination with collagen, acid becomes a champion in smoothing out wrinkles.

Several alcohols in the oil do not pose a danger to the fragile skin of the eyelids. Their effect is mitigated by a complex of fatty acids. But alcohols improve blood circulation, allowing withered skin to be saturated with oxygen again. This component is very rarely found in other cosmetic oils, which makes jojoba a unique product.

As for fatty acids, this is a necessary complex for skin that has lost its freshness with age. In addition to smoothing wrinkles, jojoba oil has the following effects on the skin:

  • moisturizes;
  • cleanses accumulated sebum;
  • softens;
  • protects against ultraviolet radiation;
  • protects against frostbite;
  • you can reduce the negative impact of sea salt on sensitive skin;
  • saturates with nutrients:
  • calms;
  • eliminates irritation;
  • removes redness;
  • treats acne;
  • refreshes and evens out the complexion.
Jojoba oil, despite its thickness, has a high ability to penetrate the layers of the epidermis. It is instantly absorbed by the skin without leaving an oily sheen or clogging pores. The original property of the oil is that it does not become bitter over time. If you add this substance to a cosmetic product, its shelf life will increase.

The oil is stored in a dark place, since at temperatures below +5 degrees Celsius it begins to crystallize.

Indications for use

Indications for use are:
  • age-related skin changes;
  • the appearance of the first;
  • dryness;
  • sensitive skin prone to irritation;
  • faded complexion;
  • treatment of purulent rashes;
  • elimination of the consequences of rashes and stretch marks;
  • dark spots;
  • eliminating bags and dark circles under the eyes;
  • care for chapped lips.

Jojoba oil is a “smart” remedy: it solves exactly the problems that are required. The product can be used for any skin type. It normalizes the fat balance, so using the product on oily skin will only bring benefits. The oil is also suitable for creating homemade hair care cosmetics, helps restore hair follicles, and fights dandruff.

Recipes with jojoba oil for wrinkles on the face and around the eyes

Jojoba oil serves as a good base for creating homemade cosmetics. It goes well with both and esters. You can apply the product in its pure form or as an additive to a cream, lotion or mask.
