Multi-level crochet dress for the New Year

An outfit of this type is suitable for girls under 4-5 years old.

The beginning of knitting is a square yoke with shoulder bevels. The dialed number of loops must be divided into 4 parts for the front, sleeves and back, and the number of loops for each part may differ.

Now calculate the length of the armhole. To do this, divide the half-circumference of the chest by 4 and add 7 loops.

In the next row after the armhole, add the missing number of loops (air loops) for the armpits to create a bust circumference. Knit with a net as before, making extensions at regular intervals.

Every sixth, fifth or seventh row will have ruffles, so the length of the product should be divisible by six, five or seven, respectively.

Necessary materials:

  • 1. Pink yarn, 100% cotton with lurex – 100 grams.
  • 2. Hook 2.5.
  • 3. Multi-colored tulle (pink, lilac and white) - 1 meter of each color.
  • 4. Satin ribbon in tulle color of varying widths (from 0.5 cm to 5 cm).
  • 5. Ribbon of pink sequins – 5 meters.
  • 6. Scissors.
  • 7. Cotton threads.
  • 8. Glue gun.

Take padding polyester. Cover it with damp gauze and steam it with an iron. It is important that the padding polyester is even. Now you need to mark the fabric into identical strips, according to scheme 1.

Please note that the length of the strips depends on the length you need.

Thus, we cut each color of tulle.

We should get identical stripes. Approximately 15 pieces of each color.

We will start creating the young fairy's dress from the top. To do this, we need to cast on a chain of 130 air loops. The number of loops depends on the circumference. To correctly calculate the required number of loops, measure the circumference of your child's chest. Record the data. Then, knit a chain of 10 chain stitches and measure its length. This way we can calculate exactly how many loops we need.

For example. Chest circumference of a 5 year old girl = 50 cm.

A knitted chain of 10 chain stitches is 7 cm. Therefore, about 75 stitches are needed.

Having typed the chain, we connect it into a ring. We will knit in the round. We knit 36 rows with half double crochets. If the thread is thin, then it is better to knit in single crochets. It’s the same here, the number of rows depends on the required length of the upper part of the dress.

The drawing should not be transparent.

We knit the 37th row with arches of air loops: 4 air loops, 1 connecting loop in every 3 loops of the previous row.

We knit the entire row.

Row 38: we tie the arches with single crochets.

So, now we take one of the tulle strips. We pass it through the “air arch”. Align the ends. The length of each strip should be the same. Then we tie a small knot. This is one option if you do not have a thin satin ribbon 0.5 cm wide.

You can secure tulle in another way, more elegant. Take a satin ribbon in the color of tulle. Cut strips 50 cm long.

Thread the tulle through the arches in the same way, but do not tie it into a knot. Now take a satin ribbon and tie it at the base, don’t forget about the bow.

When the skirt is ready, let's start decorating it. Take a pink sequin ribbon. Take it apart into separate sequins and glue them with a glue gun onto each strip of tulle. To make the skirt seem more shiny and magical, increase the number of sequins.

The skirt is already ready. Let's start with the straps. Take the pink cotton thread again. Measure out the required distance for the straps (note that there will be three braids on each side). Fasten the thread. Knit a chain of tight chain stitches of the required length.

We secure the end.

We knit two more braids in the front and three from the back of the dress.

On the other hand, exactly the same.

Straighten the satin ribbons.

Well, the little fairy’s dress with her own hands is almost ready. All that remains is to make a decorative flower for the straps. Take a satin ribbon 5 cm wide. Cut two strips about 12 cm long.

master class blouse with pigtails

when I was walking on 163 com. I found a wonderful master class, THANK YOU SO MUCH to the author! I'm sorry, I don't speak Japanese :), I can't indicate the author...

A snowflake or princess dress will be a combination of two parts: a crocheted yoke and a tulle skirt. At the first stage of knitting, you need to calculate the number of loops for the yoke. This is the most difficult thing, and then go according to your idea, how you see a New Year's crochet dress with tulle for a girl.

First, let's come up with an image. Its basis will be the yoke pattern. I decided to choose a simpler option - a classic square yoke with raglan sleeves and fillet knitting. See the diagram below.

Yarn selection

Now we choose yarn and a hook for the New Year's dress. The chosen hook and yarn determine how many loops will need to be cast on for the collar and how many rows to knit, as well as the density of the knitting. For example, if you use a hook that is too thin, the knitting fabric will be dense and stiff. This is unlikely to please the delicate skin of children.

I chose YarnART Violet light turquoise yarn. Hook - 1.5 mm.

Yoke calculation

Now you need to take measurements. It is necessary to measure the circumference of the neck and chest. Next I will describe the pattern of how I knitted it for my daughter Alice (3 years 4 months, height 95 cm). She got the following parameters:

  • Neck circumference (Obsh) = 25 cm,
  • Chest circumference (CG) = 52 cm.

Calculate the knitting density. To do this, knit a square with double crochets and determine the number of loops in multiples of centimeters. I have 9 dc, approximately 2 cm. (dc – double crochet)

I decided to make the neckline of the yoke 37-38 cm, so that it would be free on the neck. This is approximately 37 cm x 9 dc / 2 cm = 166.5 loops. But this is not a finite number.

We divide the resulting 166.5 loops by 3, we get 55.5 loops for each part of the yoke knitting:

  • 1/3 on the chest,
  • 1/3 on the back, 1/6 on each shelf,
  • 1/3 for both sleeves, i.e. 1/6 per sleeve.

Now let’s figure out how many loops will go where, taking into account that according to the rapport of the crochet dress pattern I have chosen, it is necessary that each part of the yoke has an odd number of loops. I got the following:

  • on the chest – 55 loops
  • 27 loops on the back shelves
  • There are 27 loops per sleeve shelf.

In total, you need to dial 55 + 27x2 + 27x2 = 163 loops plus 3 lifting loops.

The process of knitting a yoke

The length of the raglan is limited to the child's shoulders. I stopped knitting when the width of the chest part became 19 cm. After that, I no longer knitted the sleeves, but knitted 6 rows of only the back and chest panels. Thus, I increased the armhole height sufficiently.

After that, I calculated how many loops were needed according to the circumference of the chest. To do this, we calculate OG (chest girth) = 52 cm and add a margin of 3 cm so that the dress does not become too tight. It turns out that the girth of the dress = 55 cm. This size corresponds to 55x9/2 = 247 loops.

Count the total amount of loops on the back and chest panels that are already knitted. I got 197 loops.

We count: 247-197 = 50 loops - this number of loops is not enough to close the yoke into a circle. Divide the number in half. We get 25 air loops that need to be picked up under each armhole to continue knitting the dress.

Tie the required height of the yoke. For me it ends under the bust, and after that there will be a tulle skirt.

Tulle skirt

Now you need to make a tulle skirt. There are several options:

  • sew tulle directly to the knitted yoke;
  • fasten the tulle to the VP arches on the yoke;
  • fasten the tulle to an elastic band and sew to the yoke;
  • fasten the tulle to an elastic band for headbands and sew.

I chose the last option. So tulle can be placed in several layers. I made the top one blue and the bottom one white. It turned out very airy and snowy.

Then just sew this skirt to the yoke and you will get a dress.

Sew a zipper or button on the back of the dress.
In the video you can see several ways to make a tutu skirt from tulle:
