How to sew a little black dress?
Next, we draw lines, as shown in picture 1, on the front side of the base pattern. You can use Picture 2 as a ready-made sheath dress pattern for cutting. On the back we draw the lines indicated in picture 3. And we shorten the sleeve, as in picture 4.
So, how to sew a sheath dress?
We take the front side, notice the darts, and sew them together. Next, iron it towards the middle of the dress. We do the same operation with the back. The next step is to baste and stitch the side seams. We sew a hidden zipper on the back.
Next we sweep and stitch the seams on the sleeves. The next step is to sew the sleeves to the armhole of the dress. We cut out the facing for the neckline, 3cm wide. We strengthen the facing with thermal fabric and apply it to the neckline, sweep, stitch, and iron. Next we hem the sleeves and bottom.

So, we start by processing the cuts using an overlocker: we overcast the cuts of the middle seam of the back, side and shoulder seams.
Then we process (sew and iron) the front darts and the sleeve darts.
If the “zipper” is located in the middle seam of the back, we process it taking into account the method of processing the fastener.
Sew the middle seam down to where the zipper ends.
Further processing is different. Let's start by looking at the stitching method for a hidden zipper.
Concealed zipper for a little black dress
We wash away the rest of the seam and iron it. Take off the basting and baste the zipper. We check the correctness of the operation - the fastened zipper should not warp, and “waves” are also unacceptable. It is advisable to grind with any special foot (see photo and video).
Nowadays, the overhead method of processing such a fastener has become widespread. The area of the seam where there will be no zipper is stitched and ironed, as in the case of a hidden zipper. Then we cut off the allowance along the middle seam and another 0.5 cm of the back in the area where the zipper should be. After this, the “zipper” should be applied, basted and stitched.
And we move on to the next stage.

The seams of the sleeves should also be stitched and ironed, having previously been overcast.
Fitting.
We put the dress on the figure. Since our silhouette is semi-fitting, we are NOT considering fit.
Our task is to trim the armhole and choose the shape of the neckline that suits the customer’s face and build.
Once the neckline and armhole are cut properly, we put the dress on the customer and put on the sleeve. Our task is to apply marks that will make it easier to thread in the sleeve.
We place the highest point of the cut on the shoulder (the cut is equal to a double allowance, that is, about 2 cm) and pin off the sleeve and dress with a tailor's pin.
Then we place the sleeve on the point at the base of the chest dart (2 cm offset), and on the back at the level of the shoulder blades.
Please note: the sleeve should “sit” on the arm without creases or folds. If necessary, move it at the second and third points.
Once the desired fit is achieved, apply chalk or soap marks at the same three points on the dress and on the sleeve to align them when basting.
The sleeve should be basted from the wrong side, inserting it into the armhole and chipping it at the same three points that you outlined during the fitting. Chipped? You can chip in a few more places, smoothly distributing the landing at the top of the round.
If the bottom collar doesn't line up with the bottom of the armhole, you can lower or raise it a little. The main thing is that it turns out symmetrically.
After this, we sew the sleeve in two lines so that the fit does not move.

Ironing the fit of the sleeve should be done very carefully, going with the iron only 1 - 2 cm beyond the tucking line.

Then you remove the pins, put the little thing aside, and draw with a felt-tip pen or marker along the holes, like in a children's book where you had to connect the dots. The pattern is ready, all that remains is to transfer it to a medium - tracing paper, thin plastic, non-woven fabric, and so on.
